Thank Heaven For Little Girls

Here are our second set of baby pictures of Baby Woodruff! We are very excited to introduce everyone to Abigail Jean Woodruff! You can tell she is going to be super adorable! I mean, look at that bone structure!
And here are her little feet together! At the ultrasound you could actually see each and every one of her little metatarsels!
Rather than have the ultrasound technician announce it to us at the appointment, we had her write it down and gave the sealed envelope to my adorable BFF (who has been integral these last few months!). Ashley then baked us a cake, enclosing the gender in pink or blue form within a delicious confection meant to be shared.
Later that night at Brick Oven, we sliced open the cake and....tada! IT'S A GIRL!!!!
Thank you to everyone who attended my slightly over the top gathering and I hope everyone else had fun, too! Thank you to my sister in law who chose two very cute outfits I am sure will come in handy.

And I am just so excited and overwhelmed at the idea of being the mother to a little girl! I am already shopping for cute little girl outfits!!! Thanks to a very convenient coupon to baby gap, here are a couple of the things I have found so far to keep Abby warm this winter!

Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys

Spanish Fork Fiesta Days is a few weeks past, but I couldn't not post about it. Sweet Husband and I started the morning with his mom and dad wandering around the festivities. Our local Segway shop had set up a course and we couldn't pass it by!

Then we ate BBQ Sandwiches with Texas Twisters and Tornado Potatoes but we did decide to pass on the deep fried oreos and twinkies. Then, after a brief nap, it was off to the rodeo!!! We saw patriotic cowgirls...

And bucking broncos...

And some really nasty falls...

Mr. Darling and I enjoyed watching and photographing the crazy antics of the cowboys and I hope that the in laws enjoyed it as well!!

And here I am at about 21 Weeks. This night marked the first night that I couldn't button my jeans...but I am past the half way mark!!!

Kodachrome

Yesterday, some friends from my freshman ward were all in Provo at the same time and we were able to get together for some lunch!

It is really fun to see what everyone is up to and remember how much fun we all had together. The couple in the middle, Amy and Josh, were both in our freshman ward! They now have a sweet little fourteen month old!
And here are just the girls!
Sometimes, I think being a freshman was one of the best years of my life. Usually, I just remember it as a great time to make awesome new friends that I am so happy to be able to catch up with!

Maybe I can find a picture from freshman year and make it digital so we can see the before and after!

Who Let The Dogs Out?

Puppies brighten my day. Cute and Cuddly, always affectionate; who wouldn't want one of these little lovebugs?

Me and my BFF covered in little, sleepy, silver sweethearts!
Mr Darling's friend has a silver lab who just had twelve puppies! TWELVE! I am glad I am having only one baby!
Here are all twelve puppies, each and every one is asleep!
If anyone wants one, let me know! They are all so sweet and adorable!

In This Moment

I am feeling vulnerable. There are so many new things about pregnancy and so many I had no idea would be so hard. I am really struggling with:

  • Weight Gain...who knew I used my jean size to help define myself?
  • Drinking enough water...how can 15 glasses a day STILL not be enough?
  • Eating healthy...no salt, no sugar, no fun!
  • Smells...everything I smell makes me want to throw up, including the smell of food!
  • Feeling inept....can I seriously keep a helpless human being alive much less happy?
  • Breaking down....I seriously cry at EVERYTHING including radio commercials in spanish.
  • Making Decisions...what to wear, what to do, what to eat-I simply cannot make up my mind!
  • Memory...do you know what I was saying or doing 2 minutes ago? I don't!

On the upside, in less than 2 weeks I will pass that important half way mark!

Rocky Mountain High

Ouray, Colorado!

When we arrived at the cabin on July 2nd, Bill and Jean offered to take us on a little jeeping expedition to start our trip! I had never been jeeping before, so we loaded the dogs into the jeep and took off for Twin Falls.

The mountains around Ouray are simply covered in pretty little (and pretty HUGE) waterfalls! Here Mr. Darling and I are posing in front of the scene from a fairy tale!
These are the actual Twin Falls. Supposedly, these are the waterfalls used in the Coors Beer Commercials. This is me and my adorable husband and his sweet Aunt Jean and Uncle Bill and their pup Ivy. Callie wants to go play in the falls!
On the way back, Uncle Bill thought it would be just so much fun to drive close to the edge of the HUGE cliff!!!
The next day, the Holmans and friends all headed over the mountain to Telluride to ride the Gondolas and hike the amazing mountains! We managed to get a (good) picture with EVERYONE there. So much fun!
Here are the darlings riding in the gondolas.
And here we are with Mr. Darling's brother and sister in law with the little town of Telluride behind us. The views were SO cool!
Here I am hiking!

Then for the main event!

The 4th of July in Ouray is an absolute blast! We started out in a long line for a pancake breakfast, then headed down the street to watch the annual "water fight" where teams of two go after each other with fire hoses. Hilarious (and wet) to watch! This year, 8 teams competed with the most watched fight being the Ouray v. Montrose Fire Departments. Poor Montrose, they never stood a chance!
Then, with a bit of free time in the afternoon, Weston, Scott, Megan and I went and hiked around Box Canyon Falls. The view from the top shows all of the little town of Ouray, CO.
The top also has the remains of a little mining tunnel that was pretty cool to walk through!

Then, down to the bottom to see the actual falls. They are really neat and the pictures simply don't do this little slot canyon justice!
Then, we watched the fireworks from the back porch of the cabin. The fireworks made the mountains glow and were just as much fun as Disney World (maybe better!). The weather was perfect and the lightening in the background made this one of my favorite 4ths of July.
July 5th brought a BEAUTIFUL day and Weston and I just weren't ready to leave! Luckily, there were a couple extra seats in the jeeps, so we got to take a second jeeping trip over the mountain to a little, historic town called Silverton. The drive gave us some AMAZING views!
Here we are in an area that qualifies as Arctic Tundra. There were tons of wildflowers, deer, mine shafts, and breathtaking mountain peaks everywhere you looked!
This is one of the most beautiful areas I have ever seen!
I can't wait to go back!
