This Girl Was Made For Walking

This post was inevitable. Everyone asks two things about Abby. Can she talk? Can she walk?

Well, she is dang close to both. She can say 'hi', 'dog', and she can say 'Cawwie' (you can tell who is important to her)

So here is a short 20 second clip of Abby practicing. She is still a bit nervous to walk on her own, especially if she is the center of attention.

Here There Be Monsters

The monster problem in our house is becoming a real issue. Nothing stays where it belongs. I am constantly cleaning up monster sized messes. In fact, I don't think I have had one single daylight hour where I have not had a monster mess created somewhere in our house.

But monsters are so cute.

Seriously? I am supposed to get mad at that? I don't think so. Not unless I have had no sleep and the monster makes her monster roar. We call it her froggy war cry. It is INCREDIBLE. It makes me go from a loving rational mother to someone who needs a padded room and a comfy white coat in zero seconds flat.

But then she makes this face.

And I just want to make her laugh more.
Silly monster.

Berry Sweet

Last month (how the time flies....) We had a fun family trip to my aunt and uncle's home in Bellevue. I love Washington. I love the grey, wet weather. The need for sweatshirts in August just adds to the allure. And the berries? They are delicious. Wonderful. Delicate. Vibrant. I could go on and on.
I will let the picture do the talking for me.

Abby has figured out that plants = food. I have fed her peas, tomatoes, strawberries and raspberries. And now, she thinks it is ok to just help herself...
I guess now it is time to try and teach her not to eat the green parts.

Swap Meet

Savvy Seasons Swap

I feel like a nerd admitting this, but I have online friends. As in, friends I have only met online. And they are just wonderful! I have discovered an entire community of crafty people and places where there are all sorts of fun swaps happening ALL.THE.TIME!

I am officially addicted. I have done a few swaps now and have made some awesome new friends. For my most recent swap, I sent off this pillow, a few birdie ornaments, and a reversible bunting.

And I received from someone else an adorable advent calendar. And, I have also received adorable toys for Abby, throw pillows, hot pads, pincushions, and mini quilts. I am in LOVE with mail day now.

So, here are a couple of photos of things coming and going.
UHG Project 2 Completed
A bag I sent to Anna at Thejoycottage. Love her!

The snail I adore that came in return (along with a pillow and mini quilt)
Sleepy Snail in her new home!

And a gratuitous shot of an adorable little girl. Seriously, I don't know how, but I seem to love her more every single day!

And it is darling. This clever little girl is just so wonderful!

And then she just pops back up and crawls off. It is so fun to watch this little girl learn so many fun new things!
